About the Artist
California-based artist, teacher and author, Pike has been recognized
throughout the world. She serves Oil Painters of America as Chairman
of the Masters’ Advisory Board and as author of “Masterstrokes” for
the OPA newsletter.
Joyce Pike is best known for her beautiful floral oil paintings. However,
recently she has culminated many years of preparation of a series of
ten paintings telling the story of the life of Jesus Christ through
his birth, baptism, teachings, crucifixion and resurrection. Eight
of these paintings are currently displayed at the Oak Park Christian
Church in Grover Beach, CA.
Inspired to bring the viewer closer to God, Joyce painted the landscapes
in a 36 inch by 48 inch format. The paintings, in which Joyce has been
painting of her faith, are owned by the Pike Family Trust and are dedicated
to a lay ministry. Giclee’s of the paintings are being distributed
to missionaries for teaching purposes.
Pike has stated that this project has been the most personally rewarding
of her five decade long art career. It is her desire to dedicate most
of her life to the creation of these paintings for the education of
children about the life of Christ and his purpose. Giclees of the paintings
may be obtained from a photographer on a non-profit basis in various
sizes. Inquiries should be directed to Joyce at joycepike@charter.net.
