About the Artist
Craig Tennant (b. 1946) started his art career
working with Grey Advertising in New York City at the age of 21. In
1970, he became an Illustrator with B.B.D.O. advertising agency in NY,
and was assigned such clients as Campbell's Soup and Dodge Chrysler.
For the next twenty years, Tennant freelanced for clients including
TV Guide, Sports Illustrated, and Field & Stream, before moving
West in 1989 to concentrate on oil paintings depicting the western way
of life. In 1981 he received the Silver Award from the NYC Society of
Illustrators.
Tennant's most recent credits include the People's Choice Award, at
both the 2001 and 2002 Coors Western Art Show, and the 2000 and 2001
Stampede Western Art Show. His Colorado corporate collections include
The Anschultz Collection, Pueblo Bank and Trust, and Park Meadows shopping
resort. He is represented by Settlers West Gallery in Tucson, and sells
paintings from his Golden studio directly to collectors on his private
mailing list.
