Description This "on location" painting workshop in the Bitterroot Mountains of Montana, sculpted by glaciers and carved by the Bitterroot River, offers an ideal plein air painting experience. The rugged terrain of the Bitterroot Range is well known for its beauty and historical significance. In 1805 Lewis and Clark traveled through the Bitterroot Mountains on their journey toward the Pacific Coast.

This new workshop will start by reviewing the basic approach to landscape design and composition and will focus on painting the proper shapes, values, colors, and textures of nature in a mountain and river setting. Particular attention will be paid to achieving good color, composition, rendering and the effective application of oil paint in a outdoor environment. David will include a plein air painting demonstration in the workshop as well.

This oil painting workshop is for beginners and intermediate painters who wish to take their plein air "on location" painting skills to the next level of development and also enjoy the Big Sky landscape of Montana.

NOTE: This workshop is filling up quickly, so please let us know if you are interested.
