Description of Project, Position Studio or other Opportunity - The Assyrian Cultural Foundation is seeking a part time art teacher for adults. Classes will be hosted in person once a week on Thursday nights, and will begin in the Spring of 2023. The class is an introduction to traditional art practices, and is intended to provide our aspiring adult arts with the foundations they need to create fine art. Given the position is part time, we are offering a salary of $30/hr.
Qualifications Required/Preferred - The ideal candidate has a background and formal education in fine arts. This should include expertise in mediums such as oil and watercolor painting, charcoal, oil and chalk pastel, and the ability to instruct artists in how to approach color theory, shading, perspective, and composition. Professional experience as a teacher or art instructor in preferred but not required. The ideal candidate must also have the experience or ability to build a lesson plan for each semester based off the ability and interests of the participants.
