Description - Pagosa Springs is surrounded by the San Juan mountains. Breathtaking scenery is all around. The San Juan river runs right through downtown, Wolf Creek pass is a 35 minute drive with multiple places to paint along the way including a tall waterfall. Many forest roads lead to scenic outlooks and will be open if no snow. And, we are blessed with numerous lakes throughout town that often reflect our majestic peaks and sunrises/sunsets. Our area is known for hillsides filled with masses of golden aspens and peak color is typically within 1 week either way of our paint out date. If you need lodging ask Laura for VRBO/Airbnb discount.
Instructions - Meetup in City Market parking lot at 9:30am. Two Chicks & a Hippie restaurant there is a great place to grab a hearty breakfast. We will caravan to painting area(s) promptly at 10am. If you can’t make it give host/Laura a courtesy call prior to 9:30am. A printed map will be provided to participants for painting location options. There are so many beautiful places to paint nearby! Dinner will be served by the host, $10per person. Directions for dinner location will be given out at morning meetup. Along the San Juan river are hot springs and the Springs Resort offers soothing soaks after a long day painting/hiking, so bring a swimsuit/towel. And, bring a non-painting friend if they love the outdoors. There is plenty to keep them occupied during the day & they are welcome to join us for dinner!
