Description - The Biscayne Nature Center is located in Key Biscayne, a Florida town on a barrier island across the Rickenbacker Causeway from Miami. While our meeting point is a community center of sorts, it lies within Crandon Park, an 808-acre urban park occupying the northern part of Key Biscayne. A walk through this park will reveal long, sheltered beaches, mangroves and tropical forest inhabited by birdlife, butterflies and loggerhead turtles.
Instructions - Artists are encouraged to arrive as early as they like to setup and begin working, with a 9:00am recommended start time. The Biscayne Nature Center is serving as our meeting point at the conclusion of the paint out (12 noon). At this gathering we will welcome and greet all artists, kicking off our inaugural Miami Plein Air season. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring water to drink, sun screen, insect repellant, and an easel umbrella for shade.
