Description - This is a 14 acre city park with a small operating lighthouse. Beautiful views of Puget Sound, the ferry, Whidbey, Olympic Mountains and on a clear day, Mount Baker and Northern Cascades. There's plenty of driftwood, passing boats, boat launch and pier. The park has picnic shelters, restrooms, and fire pits. Host will be painting at the lighthouse. In case of rain, Paint Out will be cancelled.
Instructions - Once you reach the stop sign at the bottom of the hill at Ivars, turning to the left brings you to the large parking lot, shore, and small lighthouse, to the right at the end of the street brings you to free parking for Ivars. There are usually people fishing on the pier behind the Ivars dining room. The outside Ivars counter is a good spot for a lunch break - fish and chips and ice cream cones and more. Bathrooms are available on the Ivars side as well as on the park side. There is plenty of parking. It's $3 per hour, with a maximum of $12 per day.
