Description - This intimate, in-depth oil painting workshop is limited to just six artists, offering a highly personalized experience in the Handell Studio. The session runs from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM (or later if needed), and participants are asked to bring their own lunch, as the day is structured without breaks to leave the studio. Designed exclusively for oil painters, this program combines individual critiques with short, informative demonstrations tailored to each artist’s work. Participants should bring a sketch easel, painting supplies, and at least four unframed, dry oil paintings for critique. Throughout the session, artists will gain practical, hands-on insight into key techniques, including glazing to create depth and distance, developing a strong and workable oil block-in, proper use of retouch varnish, and methods for eliminating chalky color. Additional tips and unique approaches—rarely shared in traditional settings—will also be explored. This is a focused, immersive opportunity for oil painters seeking meaningful feedback and advanced technical guidance in a small-group setting.
