Description - Join artists Bryan Mark Taylor and Vanessa Rothe for a transformative and skill-focused art retreat in the heart of France's Loire Valley. This retreat is designed for artists of all levels who want to see visible improvements in their work while painting world-renowned French landscapes. Bryan and Vanessa, both well-known for their landscape and still-life paintings, will teach you to recognize and use important value changes, establish solid light and shadow relationships, create dynamic shapes and dimensional forms, and master design principles—both linear and atmospheric. You will also learn how to create a compelling focal point while juggling these essential elements.
Bryan and Vanessa will guide you through a structured learning plan that includes lectures, demos, and exercises to help you acquire new skills rapidly and put them directly into practice. With a combination of painting on location at the château where the group will stay and trips to iconic locations like the charming town of Saumur and the stunning Château de Villandry, you will build a rich collection of reference material and new work. These trips offer inspiring subjects to expand your artistic horizons, from Renaissance gardens to historic architecture.
You will improve your observational skills, study exciting new techniques, and receive personalized individual attention after each demo and session. The retreat culminates in a mini-exhibition, where participants share their progress and receive constructive feedback from Bryan and Vanessa. By the end of this retreat, you'll leave with improved technical skills, a collection of new work, and a deeper understanding of how to bring life and emotion to your paintings.
