Painting Water with Jake Gaedtke

Description - Frustrated with painting reflections in water or those underwater rocks and fallen trees? Now is your chance to learn from Western Landscape artist, Jake Gaedtke, who has been a professional fine artist for over 26 years. His career has taken him all over the United States from coast to coast and Europe. The emphasis on this intensive, but fun, three-day workshop will focus on the fundamentals and concepts of painting water. We will start the day indoors with a short lecture with slide shows before we go on location to a predetermined location where Jake will have a demonstration. Students will do their own paintings with the instructor's guidance. You will benefit from Jake’s extensive experience of painting water of all types through years of study and painting including reflections, transparent water and moving water through rivers, streams and lakes. At our various locations, we will be able to observe and understand the water. We will be painting close to our cars (carpooling) with short walks to the water. You must have a portable painting setup and provide your own lunch. A materials list will be provided after registration. Open to all levels!
