Are you ready? There is nothing like getting out in Nature to paint. There is no better place to learn how to paint color and light than from Mother Nature herself! If you have been feeling STUCK with your art and painting then this is the workshop to get you going. There is nothing like being outdoors and moving paint around on your canvas. So fun! so invigorating! Living in San Diego is a Plein Air painters paradise. Get out and enjoy the colors of the coast while learning my techniques for painting the surf, rocks, coastal bluffs and ocean. Here is what you can expect from my upcoming Painting the Coast workshop. This workshop goes deep into the process of how to problem-solve when painting the the Coast and Ocean, outdoors. I have much to share from color mixing for luminous and vibrant colors to designing a solid composition and how simplifying Mother Natures’ complexity. We will be painting at: - Torrey Pines, beautiful and iconic State Park - The world famous rocks and coast link of La Jolla - Cabrillo State Marine Park. About the Workshop: • The first day will be an informative demo to s to set up your paintings for more success out in the field. This. will be conducted outdoors en plein air. * After the demo Rose will have an effective series of exercises to train your eye to see and to help you identify and see light and shadow within the subtle values of waves and rocky coast lines. * Students will learn and apply design principles on composition to have a better success rate of designing a dynamic Seascape. • Learn the anatomy of a wave, and how to depict rocks with structure, along with value and color strategies that I have found to simplify drawing and painting water and rocks. • Learn how to start and how to develop a Plein air painting given the limited amount of time you have out in the field and strategies on how to determine and choose values and create luminous colors. This workshop provides plenty of one-on-one instruction and critiques to help you along your Plein air painting journey, as I keep my classes small. First come, first serve. Limited classes.
