Description - Color Theory for the Beginning Oil Painter with Carisa Mitchell Two days: June 14 - 15, 2024 10:00 am to 3:30 pm Class fee: $229.00 members - $252 not-yet members Welcome to color. In this entry-level oil painting workshop you’ll be exploring the fundamentals of color theory. “Color theory is both the science and art of using color. It explains how humans perceive color; and the visual effects of how colors mix, match, or contrast with each other. It also involves the messages colors communicate, and the methods used to replicate color.” You’ll be introduced to building a color wheel, learning how to mix value, as well as how to mix color schemes. The goal is to master color theory to enhance your oil paintings. You should leave confident in your ability to create visually pleasing compositions that capture the essence of color in your artwork. Students will learn about: · Fundamentals of Color Theory in Oil Painting · Color Wheel · Color Value · Color Schemes Registration is completed by The Arts Hancock County.
