Yolande McAlevey began drawing and painting in High School, then in college, focused her studies in art. Her education includes Pierce College, Cal State Northridge and Art Center College of Design. Yolande gained technical skill when she began her career as a Draftsman, then continued in different areas which include being a Technical Illustrator, worked doing commission artwork and then went into Graphic Design. Later, while homeschooling her three children, she worked as a High School Art Teacher for 10 years.
Yolande is an award-winning artist with paintings being included in the NWS Members Show and OPA’s 2019 National Exhibition in St. George, Utah. She is a member of the California Art Club and Thousand Oaks Art Association where she is the chair of hospitality. Among the many subjects she paints, her “Vineyard” and “Harvest” series include watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings. The main body of work is done in watercolor and oils but she also works in pencil, pen & ink, mixed media, pastel, airbrushing and gouache.
