Oil Painters of America’s 2024 Eastern Regional Exhibition
Oil Painters of America’s 2024 Eastern Regional Exhibition is being hosted by The Centerpiece Gallery located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The show will open on Friday, October 11 and run through Friday, November 8, with the opening reception and awards ceremony taking place on Friday evening, October 11.
Besides being the capital of North Carolina, Raleigh is known as the “City of Oaks” due to the great number of oak trees lining the central part of the city. While visiting Raleigh you might want to visit the Historic Oak View County Park, a 27 acre park with an antebellum plantation and related buildings such as the Cotton Gin House, Livestock Barn, and Carriage House. Also consider visiting the J. C. Raulston Arboretum with its rose garden, Japanese garden and Asian valley, or one of the many local museums.
Our goal is to assemble approximately 100 of the finest representational oil paintings by our Associate and Signature members, as well as paintings by our Master Signature artists. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.
The total awards will be approximately $12,000 in cash and merchandise.
The awarding juror will be an OPA Signature member Elizabeth Pollie.
Artists eligible to compete are 2024 OPA members who are citizens of the United States and Canada who reside in: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Labrador, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Newfoundland, North Carolina, Nova Scotia, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
