2022 Western Regional Exhibition Accepted Artist Instructions

Make sure to fill out form at the bottom of the page

Dear OPA Exhibiting Artist,

Congratulations on your acceptance into this year’s Western Regional Exhibition of Traditional Oils to be held at the Southwest Gallery, September 10 – October 1, 2022.  Please read the following instructions closely as it includes important information regarding the exhibition.  OPA and Southwest Gallery look forward to receiving your painting.

Important Information!

Prepare Your Pre-Paid Return Shipping Label

OPA requires that you include a pre-paid shipping label to cover the return shipment of your painting if it is not sold. And, please do not forget to insure your painting!

There are two ways to send your label:

1. Include a paid, printed return shipping label with a bar code and send it in with your painting. Be sure to use the yellow envelope to make it easy for the gallery to see your label.

2. Email your pre-paid shipping label directly to Southwest Gallery at sales@swgallery.com. Be sure when you email your label that you include your name in the subject line. Example: “John Michael Carter – Return Shipping Label”.

Out of Town Artists artwork to arrive at:

Southwest Gallery
4500 Sigma Road
Dallas, TX 75244

Phone: 972-960-8935

Shipping Discounts

Masterpak is offering a discount for OPA members through September 30th. Please use code OPA2022 for 20% off.

Airfloat is offering a discount for OPA members through December 31st. Please use code OPA22 for 20% off.

All artists who have been juried into the exhibition are required to fill out the uncrating form below.

A couple of quick reminders!

•Your painting should arrive in Dallas the week of August 25 through September 1.

• Include a return shipping label in your box!

•In the next week or two, you should receive shipping instructions in the mail. Please read over the information carefully and be sure to proofread the enclosed notification card.

•Southwest Gallery needs your bio! Please email them a one-page biography to share with their collectors.  Email: sales@swgallery.com

Finally, we would love to see you in Dallas!  Check out OPA’s convention program.

OPA and Southwest Gallery highly recommend you obtain insurance for your artwork while in transit. The shipping industry is experiencing staff shortages resulting in longer delivery times and less care taken with shipments. One option to consider, is ShipandInsure which offers OPA members insurance and discounts on Federal Express.

Confirm Your Crating Method

Please fill out the online form below. If you are shipping under Option #1, please be prepared to pay the uncrating fee online.

  • Accepted Artist Shipping Form and Instructions

  • If you are shipping your painting to Dallas in a non-commercial shipping container, there is a $25 uncrating fee which goes directly to Southwest Gallery. The uncrating fee must be paid prior to the opening of the exhibition. PLEASE, NO PEANUTS OR CRATES!

  • If you are sending your artwork using a commercial art box, such as AirFloat, MasterPak, Uline, etc., you do not need to pay the uncrating fee. However, you are required to complete the form below. NOTE: Federal Express Premium Art Boxes are acceptable, but the Federal Express large frame box is not. Also, Home Depot boxes and homemade art boxes do not qualify under the uncrating fee exemption.

  • If you live in the Dallas area and plan on hand delivering your artwork to the gallery you do not need to pay the uncrating fee provided that your painting does not require unpacking. OPA recommends you confirm with the gallery a convenient time to drop off your painting before attempting to deliver your artwork.
