Martha Cowan
Martha Cowan began her art career back in the ’80s as a graphic designer after earning her BFA, but her heart has always been with painting, even as a young girl. Cowan has studied with many artists, but a few who have really influenced her are Cathy Shefer, Elin Thomas, Joseph Todorovitch, David Leffel, and Jennifer McChristian. She is inspired by the paintings of Howard Terpning and Richard Schmid. Cowan has taught art and painting for over 30 years in various schools and galleries. She is honored to be represented by both Mission Fine Art in San Juan Capistrano, CA and Hillside Fine Art in Claremont, CA.
