Creating Stronger and More Dynamic Studio and Plein Air Paintings

Description - Working in the SAS studio from photos or still life, this workshop will take your painting to another level. Susiehyer’s enthusiastic teaching style includes demos, critiques, and individual attention, and incorporates approaches and methods for building a painting “from the bottom up” that will make your plein air or studio work visually stronger and more exciting. Students will learn and practice the principles involved in building dynamic compositions with big shapes. These concepts may be applied to all genres of painting: landscape, figure, still life interiors, abstracts and more. The workshop begins each day with a demo or critique, and then the concepts are put to work each afternoon in quick exercises.
