Dianna Anderson Artist’s Statement “Most of my work begins en plein air. In that way I can express nature’s grand beauty first hand. All my life I have been in awe of the world around me. To be able to create interpretations of those ethereal moments, I pursue the interaction of light, atmosphere and color. Some things that inspire me include the movement of water, quality of light, subtle color illuminations and character of the landscape.” Biography Dianna earned a degree in Art Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Maine. She taught drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, stained glass, and AP Studio Art to high school students in Maine for over 21 years. Retired from teaching, Dianna devotes all her time to painting and exhibiting. She primarily paints with oils creating land and seascapes, still life and flowers. Dianna is an award-winning artist whose paintings can be found in private collections, galleries and juried shows across the country. She has studied with master artists in Maine, New Hampshire, Florida, and abroad. Dianna is a member of the American Women Artists, Oil Painters of America, the American Artists Professional League and the American Society of Marine Artists.
